The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morton stuffs the takedown.
Catoya doesn't manage to clinch there - Morton circles away.
Jonny Catoya seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Catoya shoots in for a takedown but Morton shows good takedown defense.
Catoya throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Horrible takedown by Catoya or perhaps it was just good defense by Morton which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jonny Catoya. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Catoya shoots in looking for a takedown. Morton tries to sprawl out of it but Catoya keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Morton manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Morton comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Morton lands an elbow inside.
Catoya takes an elbow to the temple.

Morton lands a vicious elbow to the side of Catoya's head that scrambles his senses and sends him wobbling down to the canvas! Morton tries to finish him with strikes but Catoya still seems able to defend himself so Morton steps back and lets Catoya get back to his feet - he wants no part of the ground game.

Catoya is rocked!

Jonny Catoya's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Morton dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Morton lands with a right and another and another! Catoya is in big trouble! Morton lands again and this time it's lights out for Catoya! A quality knockout there for Morton.
