The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Godoy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Godoy misses with a two punch combination.
The Nanny walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Godoy lands with a good body shot.
Godoy throws out a powerful jab.
The Nanny missing with a left hand there. Godoy was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The Nanny clinches up with Godoy and pushes him back against the cage.

Godoy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but The Nanny circles away quickly and effectively.

Carlos Godoy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The Nanny drops Godoy with a right and a left! The Nanny comes rushing in but Godoy regains his composure and manages to keep The Nanny in guard.

It looks like Carlos Godoy has been cut.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The Nanny cracks Godoy with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee warns Godoy that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Godoy has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from The Nanny finds it's way round the side to connect with Godoy's head.
