Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nasheem Rahman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shaun Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nasheem Rahman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shaun Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor tries to bum rush Rahman with a series of wild strikes but Rahman uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Taylor throws a right and a left that Rahman avoids nicely.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rahman.
Taylor looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Taylor fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rahman sprawls well initially but Taylor persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Taylor is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rahman is just riding it out for now. Taylor eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Taylor lands a nice short elbow.
Taylor is nestled in close to Rahman, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Rahman is refusing to be controlled, as Taylor sits in half guard.
Rahman looks like he's trying to stand up.

Rahman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Taylor on the ground.

Despite being in the dominant position, Shaun Taylor just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Rahman drops down looking for an ankle pick but Taylor pulls his leg out and moves away.
Rahman drops his hands momentarily and Taylor takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Rahman tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Taylor paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Taylor darts in and clinches Rahman up against the cage.
Taylor has had enough of the clinch but Rahman keeps him there for the moment.
Rahman comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Rahman takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Rahman keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Taylor's efforts to push away.
Taylor is looking to break free of the clinch but Rahman has double underhooks.
Rahman tries to pull guard but Taylor holds him up against the cage and eventually Rahman drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nasheem Rahman. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Rahman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rahman wants to clinch.
Rahman doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Taylor changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Taylor throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rahman stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Taylor throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rahman.

Well Taylor has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
