Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mile Kekin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joe West!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
West ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kekin moves away.
West swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from West is defended easily by Kekin.

Kekin clinches up with West and pushes him back against the ropes.

Kekin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
West avoids a punch combination nicely.
Joe West seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
West misses with a double jab.
Kekin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but West was well out of range. Poor timing from Kekin.
West wants to clinch
and Kekin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
West misses with a few strikes there.
West shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Kekin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
West slips under a jab.

West closes the distance and pushes Kekin back into the ropes.
Kekin pushes West back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head.
West goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A right hook to the body lands for Kekin.
West looking to stall.
Kekin taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Kekin lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Kekin lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

West manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

West is looking for a triangle but Kekin pushes his legs off easily.
West wants to sweep but no luck.
Kekin is stalling in the full guard.
West not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kekin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
West keeping moving, preventing Kekin from controlling successfully.

Kekin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of West is proving hard to escape from.
Kekin forces his way into half guard.
Kekin seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
West is looking to control Kekin's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can West avoid being mounted?
West won't allow Kekin to pass to mount.
West is doing well to control the position and prevent Kekin from advancing to side control.
Kekin tries to pass the half guard into mount. West knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

West trying to hold on to Kekin's head to control him but Kekin postures up.
Kekin is looking to pass West's guard but actually West recovers to full guard.
Kekin trying to control the position from guard on top but West is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kekin connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
A telegraphed right hand from Kekin misses the target.
Kekin looks to land a combination but West avoids it well.
Kekin takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Kekin dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
West wants to clinch
and Kekin counters with a stiff right hand.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kekin takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Kekin avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Kekin misses with a body shot
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
and West counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kekin. West does a little dance to reset his feet.
West just misses with a punch to the body.
No luck with that takedown attempt from West.
Mile Kekin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe West.
Good standup being displayed there by Kekin as he connects with a hook.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
West tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kekin was well out of range. Poor timing from West.
Kekin takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Kekin drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks West right on the button. West goes down! Kekin follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Kekin gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mile Kekin!
