Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Barclay Dredge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Diaz's choice of entrance music: Its not my time. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Roberts and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Dredge fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Diaz avoids it really well and circles away.

Dredge closes the distance and clinches up with Diaz, looking for a takedown. Dredge pushes Diaz against the cage but Diaz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Dredge shoots in looking for a takedown. Diaz tries to sprawl out of it but Dredge keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Diaz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Diaz is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dredge doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Diaz.

Dredge is trying to maintain the position but Diaz is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Dredge takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Dredge tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Diaz swivels and escapes.
Diaz throws a nice looking combination but Dredge bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Diaz moves out of range of the body kick from Dredge.

Diaz rushes Dredge with punches - Dredge moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Dredge goes down! Diaz follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
