The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Keitin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Thurston as he jumps to the side.

Keitin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Thurston's guard.

Thurston utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Thurston looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Keitin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Keitin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Thurston wants to stand and escape but Keitin is having none of it.

Thurston is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Keitin is aware though and is defending well.
Keitin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Keitin with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Keitin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Thurston manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Thurston throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Keitin is defended easily by Thurston.
Thurston throws a right hand that Keitin ducks under and follows up with a left that Keitin also avoids with ease.

Keitin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Thurston manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Thurston has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Keitin off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Keitin drops back looking for a leg! Thurston is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Thurston manages to kick Keitin off! Keitin jumps back into Thurston's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Keitin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Thurston sprawls well. Thurston wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Keitin gets slowly back to his feet.
Thurston throws a combination. Keitin tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
A decent looking cross lands there for Thurston.
Thurston connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Thurston lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
A jab from Thurston does it's job there.

Thurston pushes a forearm under Keitin's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Keitin is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
