Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Norman Reeves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demarcus Ware (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ware is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Put on. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Norman Reeves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Demarcus Ware!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Ware misses.
Reeves throws a sloppy head kick and Ware moves out of range easily.

Ware is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Reeves's half guard.
Reeves might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Ware trying to control from half guard but Reeves is working away.

Reeves looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Ware is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Reeves sees it coming and defends easily.

Reeves is not content to let Ware control the position.
Ware looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Ware wants to stand up but Reeves is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A slapping leg kick lands for Ware.

Ware clinches up against the cage.

Ware escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Ware closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Reeves did well to prevent Ware getting side control.
Reeves is breathing heavily.
Ware seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Reeves does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Ware wants to stand but Reeves has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Reeves is refusing to be controlled, as Ware sits in half guard.
Ware passes to full mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ware tries to control but Reeves wriggling away.

Ware is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Reeves to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Reeves shrugs it off.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Ware looking to control and managing it successfully.
Ware fails to take his opponent's back.

Ware goes for an armbar but Reeves turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Reeves.
Ware not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ware working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Reeves has passed into half guard!
Reeves drops an elbow to the side of Ware's head.
Reeves not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Reeves is working for a submission of some sort.
It looks like Reeves is going to stand back up.
Reeves is thwarting Ware's attempts to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ware gets full guard.
Reeves would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Ware is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Reeves fails to pull guard.
Reeves tries to score a body lock takedown but Ware shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Ware breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Reeves has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A slapping leg kick lands for Ware.
Ware throws a head kick that half lands.
Ware displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

Ware clinches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Demarcus Ware dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Ware plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Reeves could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Reeves fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ware sprawls well initially but Reeves persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Reeves is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Ware still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Ware has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Ware wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Reeves, who protects the arm well.
You can see the frustration on Reeves's face as Ware controls the position.
Reeves is not content to let Ware control the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ware working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Ware decides to stand back up. Ware steps back and let's Reeves get back to his feet.
Ware throws a right and a left that Reeves avoids nicely.
Reeves gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Ware counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Ware shoots in and drives through. Reeves sprawls well.
Ware throws a half hearted mid kick.

Reeves shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ware's guard.
Ware looking to control.
Ware looking for a sweep. Not yet Ware, not yet.
Reeves with a flurry of punches that miss.
Reeves wants to control from the top but Ware keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Reeves got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ware has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Reeves has managed to get both his arms back between Ware's legs - danger averted.
Ware is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Reeves throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Ware misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Reeves looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Ware is defending against the submission attempts here by Reeves.

Reeves thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Ware to regain full guard.
Ware looking for a sweep. Not yet Ware, not yet.

Ware is working an open guard so Reeves takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Ware looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Ware with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Ware throws a nice head kick!
Ware chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Reeves with a poor takedown
and Ware makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Ware forces Reeves back against the cage and clinches.

Ware gets control of Reeves's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ware will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Reeves tries to stand but Ware is controlling from the bottom.

Ware had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Reeves defends it easily.

Reeves got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ware has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Reeves has managed to get both his arms back between Ware's legs - danger averted.

Ware is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Ware tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Ware is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Demarcus Ware will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Reeves shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Ware wants to improve his position but Reeves is controlling well.
Reeves stalling away here and it's allowed Ware to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Demarcus Ware has got the better of the ground game so far.
Ware looking to control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ware looking to hit a scissor sweep but Reeves is one step ahead there.

Ware has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Reeves is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Ware.

Ware struggling a bit here.
Ware is looking to reverse the position.
Ware is working to avoid the ground and pound but Reeves connects with a decent elbow.
Ware manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Ware wants to control but Reeves is keeping busy.

Ware is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Reeves pulls his head out easily.
Ware is looking for a sweep. Reeves is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Reeves is working for a kimura but Ware is defending it quite comfortably.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Reeves has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Ware is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Reeves yanks on the arm and Ware is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Reeves.
