Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Liam Machin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kyle McGee! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Machin throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. A combination from McGee does no damage. Machin slaps away a takedown attempt from McGee, before circling back to the center of the mat. McGee tries to score a power double leg takedown but Machin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten McGee somewhat. Machin shoots in but McGee avoids the takedown attempt easily. Machin fails in his attempt to clinch. Machin closes the distance and pushes McGee back into the cage. Machin is struggling to control the position. McGee escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Machin gets caught flat footed, as McGee shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. McGee throwing strikes from guard but Machin blocks nicely. Machin is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Machin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGee throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Machin works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Machin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. McGee postures up and lands a big shot to Machin's brow. McGee got a little sloppy there for a moment and Machin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McGee has managed to get both his arms back between Machin's legs - danger averted. Machin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. McGee trying to control the position from guard on top but Machin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Machin looking for a sweep. Not yet Machin, not yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McGee throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. McGee wants to control from the top but Machin keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. McGee pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Machin is keeping the position for now. McGee trying to control but Machin is working from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Machin is defended easily by McGee. McGee misses with a few strikes there.
Machin shoots in and bounces McGee off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. McGee pulls Machin in close to prevent any damage. McGee controls Machin momentarily but Machin frees himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Machin advances to half guard. McGee is refusing to be controlled, as Machin sits in half guard. Machin trying to pass the guard but McGee defending well. Machin is thwarting McGee's attempts to control the position. McGee strikes from the bottom but Machin passes into mount!

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. A nice elbow there by Machin. Machin fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Machin wants to finish this one by submission but McGee is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Machin. McGee wants to hold on but Machin pushes him away. McGee really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Poor strikes thrown by Machin there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
McGee is squirming around, avoiding Machin's attempts to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Liam Machin dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Machin cracks McGee with an open hand slap. Machin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Machin doesn't succeed with the takedown and McGee counters with a nice body shot. Machin pushes McGee up against the cage in a clinch. Machin is trying to drag McGee to the mat but McGee just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Machin lands a nice uppercut. McGee wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Machin manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Machin looking to hit a scissor sweep but McGee is one step ahead there. McGee keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Machin's head. McGee pushing down on Machin's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Machin is keen to just control but McGee is a slippery customer. McGee avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Machin.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Machin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Machin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. McGee is trying to improve his position. McGee manages to land a sweep and he's now on top!
