Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ray Garza!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Dean Styles and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Garza rushes King and presses him up against the cage.
Nice elbow from Garza.
Garza leaning his opponent against the cage.
Garza scores with a knee to the head.
Garza controlling the action here for a moment.

Garza breaks the clinch.

Garza scores a takedown into full mount!
King regains half guard.
King tries to get to full guard but Garza has control of the leg.

King looking for submissions off his back.

King moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Garza trying to control but King is working from the bottom.

King is looking for a triangle here but Garza uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Garza decides to take the fight back to the feet.
King shoots in and drives through. Garza sprawls well.
King is breathing heavily.
Garza wants to clinch up but King keeps it at a distance.

Garza rushes King and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Come on Garza - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Garza gets underhooks to prevent King's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Christian King. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Garza is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Garza unloads a knee to the mid-section. King lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Garza comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Garza softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Garza lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Garza lands with a left to the head.
Garza stops a takedown attempt from King.
Garza gets through King's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Garza lands an elbow inside that King shrugs off.


King is rocked!
Garza with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Oh King is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Garza scores with a knee to the head.
Garza throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Kings head.
Garza lands a right hand.

Garza lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
King has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Garza avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Garza will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning King up against the cage.
King is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Garza pulls him back up using the underhooks.

King tries to break the clinch but Garza is controlling the position.
King wants a takedown but no success here.
King seems to have got his legs back now.
A right hook to the body lands for Garza.
Garza lands an elbow just above King 's eye.
King has Garza pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Garza manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Garza connects with a nasty looking knee right to King's face.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Garza using the Thai plumb to throw knees but King has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Garza has King pushed against the cage.
King blocks an elbow strike from Garza.
King tries for a takedown. No joy.
King tries to score a body lock takedown but Garza shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Garza lands a nice shot to the body.
King goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Garza working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Garza prevents a takedown attempt there.
Nice body punch from Garza - that landed with a thud.
Knees to the body from Garza.
Garza is stalling here.
Garza misses with a knee to the head.
Garza prevents a takedown attempt there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ray Garza dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Garza lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as King backs up against the cage.
Garza doesn't succeed with the takedown

and King counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Garza tries to kick King off but King keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
King works his way into side control.
King tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

King is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Garza knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

King tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no King has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
King is trying to move to mount but Garza reverses beautifully and ends up in King's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Garza trying to control the position from guard on top but King is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
King looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Garza tries to free his leg and advance position but King is retaining full guard.

King escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Garza gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

King isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Garza stacks King on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Garza!
King is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Garza off and has taken his back!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

King is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Garza won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips King off his unconscious opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Christian King!
