The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Alyssa Summers and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grant throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Santana Fritz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fritz throws a quick inside leg kick.
Grant fails with a takedown attempt.
Good shot there by Fritz.
It looks like Jeff Grant has been cut.
Fritz lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Grant looks for a takedown but Fritz sprawls well.
Grant tries to clinch but Fritz moves out of range.
Fritz misses with a jab, cross combination.
Grant uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fritz.
Some wild striking there from Fritz.
Fritz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Grant circles away quickly and effectively.
A decent looking cross lands there for Fritz.

Grant gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Fritz darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Oooh a lovely combination from Fritz sends Grant down but not out. Fritz dives into side control looking to finish.
Grant is rocked!
Grant is looking for a sweep.
Oh Grant is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fritz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Grant. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fritz has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Grant seems to have got his legs back now.
Fritz scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Fritz displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Grant.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeff Grant. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Grant misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Fritz counters with a three punch combo that has Grant backing up. Grant nods at Fritz to acknowledge the strikes.
A nice leg kick lands there from Fritz.
Grant is breathing heavily.
Grant throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Fritz was covering up waiting for the punch and Grant finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fritz is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Grant trying to move into half guard but instead Fritz has managed to sweep!
Fritz decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Grant takes a shot to the body in his stride.
The fighters circle momentarily. Fritz darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Grant misses with a takedown attempt
and Fritz counters with a left to the body.
Grant shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Fritz counters with a three punch combo that has Grant backing up. Grant nods at Fritz to acknowledge the strikes.
Good standup being displayed there by Fritz as he connects with a hook.
Jeff Grant's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Grant takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Fritz works Grant's body with a nice hook.

Jeez, Jeff Grant's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
