The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Gracie swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gracie falls off balance throwing a combination
and Johnson counters with a three punch combo that has Gracie backing up. Gracie nods at Johnson to acknowledge the strikes.
Johnson works over Gracie's head and body with a nice combination.

It looks like Vitor Gracie has been cut.
Gracie looks to land a combination but Johnson avoids it well.

Gracie drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gracie drops back looking for a leg! Johnson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Johnson manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into Johnson's guard.

Gracie is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Johnson defends it well.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Gracie passes the guard and advances to mount!

Gracie has control of Johnson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Johnson regains control of the situation pretty easily.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Gracie is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Johnson knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Johnson for a finish.
