Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Maleady (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matti Nykanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nykanen is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Elama on laiffii. Matti Nykanen told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maleady dives in and grabs Nykanen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nykanen pushes down on Maleady's head and hops out.
Nykanen lands with a kick to the ribs.
Nykanen connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Nykanen throws a head kick that Maleady semi-blocks.
Nykanen lands a jab to the head.
Maleady fails to land the takedown.
Nykanen fakes the leg kick and cracks Maleady in the body.
Nykanen lands a nice looking body kick.
Maleady closes the distance and clinches up with Nykanen, looking for a takedown. Maleady pushes Nykanen against the cage but Nykanen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryan Maleady. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Maleady takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Nykanen fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Nykanen cracks Maleady with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Maleady. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Maleady avoids the head kick by Nykanen.
Nykanen moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Maleady is breathing heavily.
Nykanen lands with a thumping leg kick.
Nykanen darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Nykanen gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Nykanen lands with a nice body kick.
Nykanen listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Maleady walks into a jab.
Nykanen has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Nykanen scores with a head kick.
Maleady is rocked!
Nykanen with a nice cross.
Oh Maleady is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Maleady takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Maleady steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Nykanen. That one must have hurt.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Nykanen throws a leg kick which misses Maleady's front leg but catches the back leg as Maleady tries to avoid it.
Look low, kick high! Nykanen uses the oldest trick in the book to send Maleady tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Nykanen is absolutely delighted - when Maleady wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Matti Nykanen!
