The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ceasaigh uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Benoit.

Ceasaigh with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Matthieu Benoit seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ceasaigh misses with a straight right.

Ceasaigh is breathing heavily.

Benoit cracks Ceasaigh with an uppercut from hell and Ceasaigh crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Benoit's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

Ceasaigh is rocked!

It looks like Lasair Ceasaigh has been cut.
Benoit thows a big elbow that misses.
Oh Ceasaigh is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Benoit trying to control the position from guard on top but Ceasaigh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Benoit is in close to Ceasaigh's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Ceasaigh seems to have got his legs back now.

Benoit postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Benoit missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Benoit advances to half guard.
Ceasaigh is refusing to be controlled, as Benoit sits in half guard.
Benoit controlling the pace.
Benoit uses his free foot to push down on Ceasaigh's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ceasaigh.

Ceasaigh is squirming around, avoiding Benoit's attempts to control the action.

Benoit swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
