Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kaarlo Koskelo!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Mills.
Koskelo shoots in for a double leg but Mills sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Koskelo throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Mills looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Mills wants to pass the guard but Koskelo is defending well.
Mills wants to take a breather but Koskelo is having none of it.
Mills takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mills is trying to control the action in half guard but Koskelo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Mills clinches.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Koskelo can't get the takedown.
Mills drops down looking for an ankle pick but Koskelo pulls his leg out and moves away.

and Mills counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Koskelo's guard now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Mills moves into the clinch.
Koskelo drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Koskelo gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mills.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Mills.

Mills turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Koskelo is not content to let Mills control the position.

Mills looking to control but instead Koskelo has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Koskelo tries to get to full guard but Mills has control of the leg.
Still in half guard, Mills seems content to control.
Mills is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Koskelo!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mills cracks Koskelo with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Mills controlling the position easily from mount.
Koskelo is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Mills looking to control but Koskelo is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Mills looking to ground and pound but Koskelo is blocking nicely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Koskelo is in all sorts of trouble here.
Mills wants to control the pace but Koskelo is squirming around nicely.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Koskelo is desperately trying to improve his position but Mills has a good base and remains in mount.
Mills trying to control but Koskelo is having none of it.
Mills looking to control and managing it successfully.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mills seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Koskelo for as long as he can get away with.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Koskelo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mills counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Koskelo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mills.

and Mills decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Koskelo's guard.
Mills is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Jamey Mills just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Mills moves out of range as Koskelo strikes.
Koskelo thows a left - swing and a miss!
Koskelo misses with a two punch combination.

Mills closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Koskelo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Koskelo is staying active underneath Mills, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
