Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michael Shin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshi Kamikaze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yoshi Kamikaze is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Shin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshi Kamikaze! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Sosuke Kotani and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kamikaze fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Kamikaze fails to land the takedown. Kamikaze drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Kamikaze takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Shin throws a lazy right hand but Kamikaze sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kamikaze is defended easily by Shin. Michael Shin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoshi Kamikaze. Shin fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Kamikaze on the side of the head. Kamikaze shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Shin defends it nicely. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Shin lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kamikaze has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kamikaze and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Shin gets a takedown into half guard. Kamikaze tries to roll over but Shin keeps him under control. Shin tries to stand and escape but Kamikaze is controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kamikaze manages to escape and get back to his feet! Kamikaze misses with a takedown letting Shin counter with a right hand. Kamikaze takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Kamikaze gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kamikaze wants to sweep here but Shin controlling him for the moment. Shin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Shin trying to stand up but can't free himself from Kamikaze's guard. Kamikaze is pulling down on Shin's head. It's preventing any offense from Shin, at least for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kamikaze looking for a sweep. Not yet Kamikaze, not yet. Kamikaze manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Shin manages to get himself to full guard.
Kamikaze decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Shin connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Kamikaze shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Shin counters with a single leg into guard. Kamikaze didn't expect that.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shin wants to stand but Kamikaze is controlling his posture from full guard. Shin prevents Kamikaze from getting back to his feet. Kamikaze not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kamikaze is on top in guard.
Kamikaze wants to pass the guard but Shin is keeping the position. Kamikaze looks gassed!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Kamikaze is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Kamikaze trying to control the position from guard on top but Shin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kamikaze is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Shin wants to stand up but Kamikaze is controlling him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michael Shin dominated that round. That's time! Shin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Shin cracks Kamikaze with a good jab. Kamikaze with a lazy takedown attempt letting Shin counter with a right hand. Shin connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Yoshi Kamikaze is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Shin scores with the left hand. Kamikaze knows he should have avoided that one. Shin looks to land a left hand but Kamikaze moved out of range nicely. Kamikaze tries for a takedown but Shin circles away easily and Shin counters with a shoot takedown. Kamikaze fights it but they end up in guard. Kamikaze looking for a sweep. Not yet Kamikaze, not yet. Kamikaze looking to control.
Shin trying to stand up but can't free himself from Kamikaze's guard. Shin stops Kamikaze from standing up. Kamikaze is breathing heavily. Shin would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kamikaze wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Kamikaze is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Shin is controlling him. Shin won't allow Kamikaze to sweep him here.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Shin closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shin lands in his opponent's guard. Kamikaze not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shin wants to get up but he can't break Kamikaze's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Kamikaze bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shin's guard. Kamikaze trying to control but Shin is working from the bottom. Kamikaze tries to free his leg and advance position but Shin is retaining full guard. Shin is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kamikaze is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kamikaze thows a big elbow that misses. Kamikaze trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Kamikaze content to stall in guard here.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Kamikaze takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Shin lands a slapping body shot.
Shin tests Kamikaze's chin there with a solid looking shot. Shin cracks Kamikaze with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Kamikaze shoots in but doesn't get the takedown so Shin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Michael Shin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoshi Kamikaze.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kamikaze is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Michael Shin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kamikaze looking for a sweep. Not yet Kamikaze, not yet. Shin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kamikaze is proving hard to escape from. Kamikaze looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shin is one step ahead there. Kamikaze trying to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michael Shin dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Good exchange - Shin coming out on top. Shin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Kamikaze is pressing down on Shin's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Kamikaze lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Shin! Kamikaze can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Shin is looking to escape. Shin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Shin tries to get out of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shin wants to try and get back to his feet. Kamikaze throws some wild stikes that Shin manages to avoid easily.
Shin wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Kamikaze.
Shin is in a horrible position here. Kamikaze smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Kamikaze wants to control the pace but Shin is squirming around nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kamikaze throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Kamikaze can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Shin is looking to escape. Kamikaze might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Shin kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kamikaze controlling the pace for now. Kamikaze working for a submission but Shin is keeping him at bay. Kamikaze takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Kamikaze unloads with some shots from mount but Shin bucks and avoids them well.
Kamikaze looking to control but Shin is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kamikaze tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Shin wants to try and get back to his feet. Kamikaze with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Kamikaze throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Shin because Kamikaze loaded up on that one. Yoshi Kamikaze has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kamikaze is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Shin to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Shin shrugs it off.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Yoshi Kamikaze. Well Shin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
