The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Douglas has a takedown stuffed. Douglas takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Douglas is breathing heavily. Casseday tries to bum rush Douglas with a series of wild strikes but Douglas uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Casseday throws a head kick that misses. Casseday drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Douglas might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. This has been an exciting period of action! Douglas controls Casseday momentarily but Casseday frees himself. Casseday stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Douglas swivels though and keeps the full guard. Casseday is looking to work some ground and pound but Douglas has wrist control. Douglas is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Casseday controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Casseday looking to pass the guard. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Douglas rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Casseday moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Casseday stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Douglas swivels though and keeps the full guard. Douglas pushes Casseday off and scrambles back to his feet.
Casseday shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Douglas keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Douglas tries to get to full guard but Casseday has control of the leg. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Casseday wants to pass the guard but Douglas is defending well. Douglas is trying to maintain the position but Casseday is very close to passing his half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Douglas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Casseday's waist but Casseday gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Douglas off to one side. Douglas fails with an attempt to clinch.
Casseday looks to clinch and Douglas counters with a left and a right that stings Casseday. Douglas blocks a head kick by Casseday.
Douglas shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Douglas moves into full mount! Casseday won't be happy about that! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Douglas punishing his opponent with strikes. Douglas looking to control but Casseday is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Douglas content just to control the position here. Casseday tries to hold on but Douglas pushes him away. Douglas controlling the pace for now. Chris Casseday has got the better of the ground game so far. Casseday is wriggling around trying to escape.

Douglas takes Casseday's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Casseday is in trouble. Douglas has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Casseday has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Douglas tries to pass the half guard into mount. Casseday knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Douglas is trying to control the action in half guard but Casseday is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Casseday is trying to control but can't.
