Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mario Davi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitor Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie has chosen amazing - kanye west as his entrance music. Mario Davi has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gracie is fending him off so far but Davi persists. Nope, Gracie circles away and we're back to standing.

and Davi counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Davi is tying to control. Gracie wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Davi pushes down on Gracie's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Davi wants to work for an arm triangle but Gracie is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Davi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gracie is just riding it out for now. Davi eventually gives up the hold.

Davi looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Davi tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gracie knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Davi misses with a takedown

and Gracie counters with a takedown into side control.

Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Davi is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Gracie off and has taken his back!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Davi is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Gracie is defending well though. Davi let's go of the attempt for now.

Davi is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Gracie defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
