Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hikaru Monotoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hideo Toyoku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Monotoshi comes to the cage accompanied by Stooges - Search and Destroy. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hikaru Monotoshi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hideo Toyoku!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Ren Mimura and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Toyoku lands a jab.
Monotoshi throws a head kick that misses.
Horrible takedown by Monotoshi or perhaps it was just good defense by Toyoku which made him look bad.
Hideo Toyoku seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Monotoshi keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Toyoku.

Toyoku throws a hook but Monotoshi blocks it.

Monotoshi walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Monotoshi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Toyoku swivels and escapes.

Toyoku scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Monotoshi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Toyoku is fending him off so far but Monotoshi persists. Nope, Toyoku circles away and we're back to standing.
Monotoshi decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Monotoshi wants to pass the guard but Toyoku is defending well.

The fighters are battling for position here. Toyoku manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Toyoku is on top in guard.

Toyoku passes Monotoshi's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Monotoshi trying to get back to full guard but Toyoku takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Toyoku wants to control the pace but Monotoshi is squirming around nicely.

Toyoku lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Monotoshi hang on?
Monotoshi tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The referee warns Monotoshi that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Toyoku lands a heavy elbow.

Toyoku is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Monotoshi is in real trouble.

Toyoku wants to control but Monotoshi is keeping busy.
Toyoku somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
Toyoku tries to get the hooks in deep but Monotoshi pushed the leg off.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Monotoshi uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Toyoku.
Toyoku avoids the body shot from Monotoshi.
Toyoku throws a jab but it's blocked by Monotoshi.
Toyoku dips to his left and cracks Monotoshi with an uppercut!
Toyoku lands with an overhand left.
A punch combination from Toyoku misses.
Toyoku might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Monotoshi uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Toyoku.
Monotoshi ducks right into an uppercut from Toyoku.
Toyoku waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Monotoshi.
Toyoku throws a lazy right hand but Monotoshi sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Toyoku throws a hook but Monotoshi blocks it.
Monotoshi ducks under a wild hook from Toyoku.

Monotoshi feints and as Toyoku raises his hands in defense, Monotoshi changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Monotoshi has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Monotoshi trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Monotoshi passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Monotoshi is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Toyoku had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Monotoshi defends it easily.
Toyoku not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Monotoshi has gone for a leg lock! Toyoku slips out almost immediately though and dives into Monotoshi's guard.
Toyoku passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Toyoku thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Monotoshi tries to bench press Toyoku off him but Toyoku keeps the position.
Monotoshi wants to control but Toyoku postures up.
Monotoshi is trying to improve his position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Toyoku fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Monotoshi is trying to get back to half guard.
Toyoku has an Americana. Monotoshi didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Toyoku is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Toyoku hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
