Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alfons Oberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Ramada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alfons Oberg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ray Ramada!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oberg slaps away a takedown attempt from Ramada, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Oberg lands with a good body shot.

and Ramada counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Oberg makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Oberg.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Ramada has eaten all the pies!
Oberg is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Oberg keeping moving, preventing Ramada from controlling successfully.
Oberg is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Oberg thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Ramada throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Oberg works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Oberg is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Oberg seems keen to control Ramada's posture.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Oberg has Ramada up against the cage in a clinch.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ramada throws a strike aimed at the side of Oberg's head but Oberg avoids it well.
I wouldn't like to be where Oberg is right now.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ramada shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Oberg lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Horrible takedown by Oberg or perhaps it was just good defense by Ramada which made him look bad.

Oberg shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ramada as he avoids it easily.

Oberg shoots in looking for a takedown. Ramada tries to sprawl out of it but Oberg keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ramada manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ramada tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Oberg counters with a one-two to the body.
Ramada is breathing heavily.

Oberg drives through and clinches with Ramada against the cage.
Ramada fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Oberg wants to break the clinch but can't.
Oberg is struggling to control the position.

Ramada tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Ramada has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Oberg is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Ramada jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Oberg walks away with a smile on his face. Ramada gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Oberg shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ramada as he jumps to the side.

Ramada jumps guard but Oberg stands there with Ramada around his waist. Ramada gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That was a close second round but I would say that Alfons Oberg will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Oberg breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Ramada wants to get back to his feet.
Oberg on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Oberg tries to get out of the position.
Oberg works his way to full guard. Good work.
Ramada wants to control from the top but Oberg keeps moving.
Oberg is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Ramada has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Oberg had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ramada defends it easily.
Ramada stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Oberg swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Oberg wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Ramada trying to control the position from guard on top but Oberg is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ray Ramada has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ramada would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

I think Oberg has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
