And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wojtek Svalbard!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Svalbard shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Australian sprawls well. Australian wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Svalbard gets slowly back to his feet.
Svalbard misses with a kick to the body.

Svalbard closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Australian is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Svalbard tries to stand but can't do so whilst Australian controls his leg.
Svalbard is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Australian manages to get to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Svalbard won't allow Australian to sweep him here.

Svalbard not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Svalbard wants to control from the top but Australian keeps moving.

Svalbard drops back, looking for a kneebar! Australian looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Australian looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Australian!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Svalbard parries the strikes from Australian easily there. Australian is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Svalbard to escape.
Svalbard can't do much from the bottom here.
Svalbard is looking for a sweep.

Australian tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Australian has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Australian misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Australian is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Svalbard has escaped the position, nice work there.
Australian is looking to take a break and control but Svalbard is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Australian is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Svalbard is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Australian doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Svalbard counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Svalbard.
Australian is breathing heavily.

Svalbard slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Svalbard trying to control the position from guard on top but Australian is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Australian trying to keep a closed guard but Svalbard is proving a slippery customer.

Australian with a lazy takedown attempt

and Svalbard counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Australian's guard now.

Australian keeping moving, preventing Svalbard from controlling successfully.
Svalbard is looking to stand up but Australian won't let him.

Australian might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Australian is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Svalbard wants to lay and pray for a moment but Australian keeps working.

Svalbard wants to take a breather but Australian is having none of it.

Svalbard throws the kick towards the body but Australian avoids it.

Svalbard bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Australian is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Svalbard tries to advance to mount but can't.

Svalbard swings around for an armbar but Australian sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Svalbard's guard.

Australian trying to control but Svalbard is working from the bottom.
Australian tries to free his leg and advance position but Svalbard is retaining full guard.
Australian wants to control from the top but Svalbard keeps moving.
Australian advances to half guard.

Australian is looking for a kimura but Svalbard is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Australian to get the leverage.

Australian looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Australian is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Svalbard has managed to free his arm - good work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wojtek Svalbard showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Australian avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Svalbard rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Australian moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Svalbard fails with the takedown

and Australian counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Australian controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Svalbard takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Australian wants to control from the top but Svalbard keeps moving.
Australian passes Svalbard's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Australian seems to be looking for submissions.

Svalbard controlling the position for now.

Australian throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Australian closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Svalbard manages to work his way to half guard, despite Australian's best efforts.
Australian is taking a breather. Svalbard says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Australian wants to lay and pray for a moment but Svalbard keeps working.

Svalbard is trying to maintain the position but Australian is very close to passing his half guard.
Australian passes into side control, despite Svalbard's attempt to control the position.

Australian is trying to get an arm triangle but Svalbard is defending well.

Australian is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Australian trying to mount his opponent but Svalbard defends it.
Svalbard moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Australian tries to free his leg and advance position but Svalbard is retaining full guard.
Australian is fighting to break Svalbard's control of his arms but Svalbard is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Svalbard can't keep his opponent in guard - Australian advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Australian is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

And that's the end of the fight!
Awesome Australian showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Svalbard has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
