Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marcum fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Marcum shoots for a double leg takedown but Bite sprawls well. He's pushed Marcum's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Bite closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Marcum to the mat! Marcum manages to get full guard.

Bite drops back, looking for a kneebar! Marcum looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Marcum looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Marcum!
Marcum tries to score with some ground and pound. Bite controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Bite is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Marcum landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.

Marcum goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Bite has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Marcum but great work by Bite.

Bite decides to stand up, so the ref orders Marcum to his feet.
Bite misses with a takedown attempt

and Marcum counters with a nice double leg into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Marcum throws and elbow that misses. Bite uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Marcum's guard. Nice move by Bite!

Bite drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Marcum manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bite has Marcum in his guard.
Marcum wants to pass the guard but Bite is keeping the position.

Marcum throws a sloppy strike and Bite has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Marcum is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Bite!
