Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Mamuh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Huggins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Huggins has chosen Eminem - Crack A Bottle as his entrance music. Joe Mamuh has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joe Mamuh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sam Huggins!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Vladimir Khabensky and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Huggins shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Huggins closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Huggins is looking for a kimura here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Huggins controlling the pace.
Huggins looks to land a strike but Mamuh avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Mamuh is looking to sweep but instead, Huggins has passed into half guard.
Mamuh is staying active underneath Huggins, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Huggins thows a huge punch but Mamuh dodges it nicely.

Huggins is looking for a kimura but Mamuh is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Huggins to get the leverage.

Mamuh wants to get back to his feet.
Mamuh is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Huggins is controlling the pace.
Mamuh keeping control of the position.

Huggins is trying to work for a kimura but Mamuh is defending well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mamuh is looking to escape.
Huggins seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mamuh does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Huggins in particular looking to stall.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Huggins is trying to control. Mamuh wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Mamuh wants to control but Huggins is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Huggins is keen to just control but Mamuh is a slippery customer.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Huggins throws a right and a left that both miss.
Huggins looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mamuh is fending him off so far but Huggins persists. Nope, Mamuh circles away and we're back to standing.
Huggins throws a solid leg kick but Mamuh takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Huggins.
Mamuh wants to clinch up but Huggins keeps it at a distance.

Huggins wants to slow Mamuh down by chopping away at his legs.
Mamuh gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Huggins counters with a single leg into guard. Mamuh didn't expect that.
Huggins loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Huggins sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Huggins wants to pass the guard but Mamuh is keeping the position.

Huggins is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Huggins's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Huggins works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Mamuh is breathing heavily.
Huggins works his way into side control.

Huggins working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Mamuh is pushing Huggins's head away, looking to escape. Huggins manages to hold on to the position though.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Some bone on bone action there as Mamuh checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Huggins looks for a takedown but Mamuh sprawls well.
Mamuh looks to clinch

and Huggins counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Mamuh wants to control but Huggins is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Huggins trying to mount his opponent but Mamuh defends it.
Huggins wants to take a breather but Mamuh is having none of it.

Huggins is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Huggins prevents Mamuh from improving his position.
Huggins tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mamuh knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Huggins is keen to just control but Mamuh is a slippery customer.

Sam Huggins has got the better of the ground game so far.
Huggins passes the guard and advances to mount!

Huggins working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Huggins lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Mamuh hang on?

Huggins cracks Mamuh with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Huggins looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Huggins has control of Mamuh's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Mamuh regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Huggins looking to control but Mamuh is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Mamuh keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Huggins takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Sam Huggins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Huggins shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mamuh napping and manages to drive through into side control!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Huggins is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Mamuh has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Huggins tries to keep control of the position but Mamuh is staying busy.
Huggins has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Mamuh.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Huggins sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Mamuh taps out!
