The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chaves misses with a double jab.
Laidlaw scores with a spinning back kick!
Chaves throws a series of punches but Laidlaw moves out of range.
Chaves throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Laidlaw slips a jab and a cross from Chaves.

Laidlaw shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Laidlaw showed some decent athleticism there.
Chaves is breathing heavily.

Laidlaw stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Chaves to get to his feet.
Laidlaw lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Laidlaw scores with a body shot.

Laidlaw forces Chaves back against the cage and clinches.

Laidlaw jumps guard and drags Chaves to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Laidlaw is controlling Chaves's posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Laidlaw wants to sweep here but Chaves controlling him for the moment.

Laidlaw scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Chaves swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Laidlaw counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Laidlaw.

Laidlaw gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Laidlaw Rushes Chaves and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Chaves is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Laidlaw Piles on the pressure and Chaves crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
