Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dele Obasi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lenny Ricardo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dele Obasi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lenny Ricardo! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Winston Howard and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ricardo misses with a takedown attempt - Obasi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Obasi decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Obasi is trying to control the action in half guard but Ricardo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Ricardo looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Obasi is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Obasi drops an elbow to the side of Ricardo's head. Obasi is figuring out what he wants to do next. Ricardo looking for submissions off his back. Obasi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ricardo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Obasi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ricardo's head. Ricardo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Obasi pulls his head out easily. Ricardo looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Ricardo looks gassed! Obasi seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Obasi wants to work for an arm triangle but Ricardo is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Obasi lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Ricardo shoots and misses and Obasi counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Obasi breaks the clinch.
Ricardo misses with a takedown and Obasi counters with a single leg into guard. Ricardo didn't expect that. Dele Obasi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lenny Ricardo. Obasi gets to his feet. Ricardo looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Obasi scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Obasi stands up and beckons Ricardo to his feet. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Obasi looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Ricardo!

Obasi landing strikes from the mount and Ricardo is in trouble! Ricardo is looking to improve his position but Obasi isn't that keen on the idea. Obasi has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Ricardo's face.
Obasi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ricardo is looking to escape. Ricardo in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Obasi in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Obasi has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Ricardo's face.
Obasi has hold of Ricardo's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Ricardo manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ricardo regains half guard. Obasi wants to pass the guard but Ricardo is defending well. Nice work there by Obasi! Obasi wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ricardo, who protects the arm well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ricardo tries to improve position but can't. Ricardo is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Obasi off and has taken his back! Ricardo patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Ricardo working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Obasi has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ricardo has got one arm under Obasi's chin. This could be trouble... Obasi trying to control the other hand but Ricardo gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Obasi has tapped out! The fight is over!
