Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between ryan pinanonang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshikatsu Nakao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). pinanonang has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Yoshikatsu Nakao will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Nakao is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Nakao decides to stand back up. Nakao steps back and let's pinanonang get back to his feet.

Nakao tries to score a power double leg takedown but pinanonang sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nakao somewhat.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Nakao closes the distance and clinches.

pinanonang is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Nakao has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. pinanonang is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
ryan pinanonang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoshikatsu Nakao.
pinanonang gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
pinanonang doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
pinanonang misses with a short punch on the inside.
pinanonang drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Nakao gets the underhooks and prevents it.

pinanonang has Nakao pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. pinanonang pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Nakao tumbling to the mat - pinanonang dives into Nakao's guard.

Nakao breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nakao can do anything to dispel that myth.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
