The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Left hook, right uppercut from Batista.
Batista throws a series of punches but Tarinashi moves out of range.
No joy there for Batista, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Tarinashi tries to clinch up.
Batista throws a right and a left that both miss.

Tarinashi looks to throw the jab but Batista is out of range.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Tarinashi connects with a nice short shot to Batista's temple.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Batista misses with a few strikes there.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Tarinashi.
Tarinashi gets the takedown into side control.
Batista is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Tarinashi asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Batista wants to get back to his feet but Tarinashi is dominant here and he's now got Batista's back!
Tarinashi looking for the choke but no joy.

Tarinashi lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Tarinashi is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Batista with him. Batista is trying to defend but Tarinashi has an arm under the chin now! Batista grimaces and is forced to tap out!
