With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Harri Sirkkeli!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jeff Pettytheft!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Illya Tyunina and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sirkkeli tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pettytheft paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Pettytheft takes a jab right on the kisser.
Sirkkeli tries to clinch up but Pettytheft circles away and keeps his distance.
Pettytheft pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Sirkkeli misses with a hook. Pettytheft ducked under it nicely.
Pettytheft avoids the body shot from Sirkkeli.
Sirkkeli scores with a hook to the body. Pettytheft takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Pettytheft defending well as Sirkkeli loads up on a big left hand.
Pettytheft uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sirkkeli.
Pettytheft slaps away a takedown attempt from Sirkkeli, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Sirkkeli throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pettytheft.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pettytheft tries to bum rush Sirkkeli with a series of wild strikes but Sirkkeli uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Pettytheft throws a shot from downtown. Sirkkeli moves away and avoids it.
Sirkkeli ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pettytheft moves away.
Sirkkeli shoots in and drives through. Pettytheft sprawls well.

It looks like Jeff Pettytheft has been cut.
Pettytheft throws a lazy right hand but Sirkkeli sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Jeff Pettytheft is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Pettytheft gets caught flat footed, as Sirkkeli shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Sirkkeli drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sirkkeli jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Sirkkeli is looking to work some ground and pound but Pettytheft has wrist control.
Pettytheft looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sirkkeli is one step ahead there.

Sirkkeli is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Sirkkeli has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Sirkkeli throws a big shot that misses.
Pettytheft misses with a looping left.

Sirkkeli throws a hook but Pettytheft blocks it.
Pettytheft slips under a jab.
Sirkkeli moves out of range of the strikes.
Sirkkeli uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pettytheft.

The crowd cheers as Pettytheft lands an impressive looking overhand right. Sirkkeli doesn't seem phased though.
Sirkkeli shoots for a double leg takedown but Pettytheft sprawls well. He's pushed Sirkkeli's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Sirkkeli tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pettytheft was well out of range. Poor timing from Sirkkeli.
Sirkkeli swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Pettytheft needs to keep his hands up - Sirkkeli had a free shot at his head there.
Pettytheft looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Pettytheft misses with a hook to the body
and Sirkkeli counters with a straight right hand.
Pettytheft throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Pettytheft avoids the body shot from Sirkkeli.
Pettytheft throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Pettytheft throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
letting Sirkkeli counter with a right hand.
Pettytheft rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sirkkeli moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sirkkeli lands a nice hook to Pettytheft's body. Pettytheft takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Sirkkeli lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Sirkkeli closes the distance and lands a one-two.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Harri Sirkkeli dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jeff Pettytheft's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Pettytheft ducks right into an uppercut from Sirkkeli.
Sirkkeli throws a jab when Pettytheft was well out of range.
Sirkkeli lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Pettytheft at a distance.

Sirkkeli darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Sirkkeli looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Pettytheft is trying to stand back up but Sirkkeli is controlling him
Sirkkeli uses his free foot to push down on Pettytheft's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Pettytheft.
Pettytheft is breathing heavily.
Sirkkeli wants to control the pace but Pettytheft is squirming around nicely.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Sirkkeli cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That's one minute gone in the round.

Sirkkeli is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Pettytheft can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Sirkkeli lands a big shot there that rocks Pettytheft but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Sirkkeli has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Pettytheft's face.

Sirkkeli lands a heavy elbow.
Pettytheft is still in real trouble! Can Sirkkeli finish him?
Sirkkeli cracks Pettytheft with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
