PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johnnie Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Brawler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brawler is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Pweization. Terry Brawler acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johnnie Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Terry Brawler!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, John Mangel and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brawler shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Walker as he avoids it easily.
Brawler fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Walker feints and as Brawler raises his hands in defense, Walker changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Walker with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Brawler is trying to keep Walker in close.
Walker controls from within his opponent's guard.
Brawler should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Walker keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Brawler's head.

Brawler wants to get back to his feet but Walker passes into half guard.
Walker works his way into side control.
Walker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Brawler is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
A lull in the action here.
Brawler is trying to improve his position.
Walker slows the pace down.

Walker decides to take the fight back to the feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
A left and a right from Brawler both land. Nice combination.

Walker darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Brawler wants to get back to full guard.
Walker controlling the pace.

Walker stands up out of the half guard.
Walker misses with a body shot.

Walker closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Walker lands in his opponent's guard.
Walker is breathing heavily.
Walker stops Brawler from standing up.

Walker decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Walker fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Brawler gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Walker counters with a shoot takedown. Brawler fights it but they end up in guard.
Johnnie Walker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Terry Brawler.

Brawler is trying to control the position but Walker postures up.
Walker seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Walker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brawler swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Brawler controls Walker momentarily but Walker frees himself.

Walker stands and steps away. Brawler gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Walker shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Walker looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Walker's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Brawler looking to hit a scissor sweep but Walker is one step ahead there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Walker drives through with a takedown into guard.
Walker slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Walker passes into half guard.

Walker stands up from half guard.
Walker fails with the takedown.
Walker tries to clinch there but Brawler circles away.
Brawler clinches but Walker breaks the clinch

and Walker counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Brawler's guard now.
Walker is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Brawler is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Walker trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Walker stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Brawler with a lazy takedown attempt

and Walker counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Walker is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Brawler wants to stand back up but Walker manages to pass into side control.
Walker controlling the position from side mount.
Walker will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Brawler is looking for a sweep.
Walker staying calm.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brawler tries to bench press Walker off him but Walker keeps the position.
Brawler is trying to work for a sweep but Walker has mounted him!
Brawler is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Walker avoids the attempt from Brawler to control.
Brawler is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Walker looking to secure an arm triangle but Brawler defends it well.
Brawler is trying desperately to improve position.
Walker manages to capitalize on a mistake by Brawler to take his back!

Walker sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Brawler taps out!
