The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Sakay changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gracie looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Gracie is looking to regain half guard here but Sakay keeps moving and retains side control.

Sakay is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gracie is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Gracie sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sakay tries to stand but can't do so whilst Gracie controls his leg.

Sakay is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gracie defends it well.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Sakay closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gracie did well to prevent Sakay getting side control.
