Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jason Kokucka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lukas Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jason Kokucka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lukas Kane!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Matheus Silva and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kokucka stuffs the takedown.
Kane fails with a takedown attempt.

Kane shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kokucka napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Kokucka struggling a bit here.
Kane is looking to take a break and control but Kokucka is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kokucka manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Kokucka is doing well to control the position and prevent Kane from advancing to side control.
Kokucka tries to kick Kane off but Kane keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kokucka is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kane is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Kokucka looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kane!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kokucka throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Kokucka is breathing heavily.

Kokucka looking for a guillotine from mount but Kane is having none of it.
Kane is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Kane is wriggling around trying to escape.
Kokucka thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

Kane tries to hold on but Kokucka pushes him away.

Kane defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Kokucka.
Kane trying desperately to get to his feet.
Kane gets back to half guard.

Kane pushes Kokucka off and gets back to his feet.
Kokucka stuffs the takedown.
Jason Kokucka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lukas Kane.

Kane feints and as Kokucka raises his hands in defense, Kane changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kane is looking to work some ground and pound but Kokucka has wrist control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lukas Kane dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Kokucka postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Kane can't do much from the bottom here.
Kane stops Kokucka from passing to mount.
Kane is trying to control Kokucka's posture but Kokucka avoids it.
Kokucka throwing strikes but Kane manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Kane working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kane has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

and Kokucka decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kane's guard.

Kane has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kokucka can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kokucka drops back looking for a leg! Kane is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kane manages to kick Kokucka off! Kokucka jumps back into Kane's guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Kokucka darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Kokucka is looking to take a break and control but Kane is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kokucka wants to free his trapped foot but Kane is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Kokucka is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kane doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kokucka.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kokucka missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Kokucka throwing shots but Kane is blocking nicely.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Kokucka drives through and clinches with Kane against the cage.
Kane tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kokucka smiles and moves away.
Jason Kokucka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lukas Kane.
Kane swats away the attempt to clinch by Kokucka.
Kane wants to land a leg kick but Kokucka is out of range.
Kane shoots and misses

so Kokucka counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Kokucka pushes Kane up against the cage in a clinch.
Kane jumps guard but Kokucka stands there with Kane around his waist. Kane gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Kokucka gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Kane looking for a sweep. Not yet Kane, not yet.

Kokucka has gone for a leg lock! Kane slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kokucka's guard.

Kokucka is looking to control Kane's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kokucka avoid being mounted?
Kane wants to pass the guard but Kokucka is defending well.
Kane seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kokucka flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Jason Kokucka overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kane passes the guard and advances to mount!
Kokucka is desperately trying to improve his position but Kane has a good base and remains in mount.

Kane controlling his opponent.
Kokucka is looking to improve his position but Kane isn't that keen on the idea.
Kane misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Kane looking to control but Kokucka is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Kokucka is trying to escape the mount.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kokucka tries to hold on but Kane pushes him away.
Kokucka wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Kane.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kokucka tries to lock up and control but Kane gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jason Kokucka.
Well Kokucka has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
