PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Veijo Vinssi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dom Holch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vinssi comes to the cage accompanied by The Alan Parsons Project - Sirius. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Veijo Vinssi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dom Holch!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vinssi misses with a looping right.
Holch misses the shot to the body.
Holch throws a nice looking combination but Vinssi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Holch shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Vinssi napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Vinssi can't do much from the bottom here.

Vinssi throws Holch to one side and escapes!
Holch fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Vinssi tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Holch is trying hard to land a takedown here. Vinssi sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Veijo Vinssi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dom Holch.
Holch fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Vinssi avoids it really well and circles away.

Vinssi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Holch gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Holch postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vinssi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Holch rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vinssi moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Vinssi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Holch is fending him off so far but Vinssi persists. Nope, Holch circles away and we're back to standing.

Vinssi had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Holch defends it easily.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Vinssi wants to get back to his feet but Holch is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Vinssi has his foot on Holch's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Holch works his way back into a safe position though.

Holch feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Vinssi cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

I think Holch has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
