The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Seu Braga and Luis Engracia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nunes was well out of range. Poor timing from Parker.
Nunes closes this distance looking for a takedown but Parker circles away.
Parker slaps away a takedown attempt from Nunes, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Nunes takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Parker connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Nunes momentarily.
Parker lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

It looks like Clovis Nunes has been cut.

Nunes shoots in and drives through. Parker sprawls well.
Hines Parker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Clovis Nunes.
Parker throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Parker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nunes on the ground.

Nunes wants to work for an arm triangle but Parker is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Parker fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Parker scores with a one two! Nunes had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Parker sends Nunes crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Parker is motioning to the referee to let Nunes up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Parker finds Nunes's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Nunes flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Parker lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Nunes will be OK.
