Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Handy Couture!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Edman forces Couture back against the cage and clinches.
Edman could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Edman tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Couture just stands there and leans against the cage.

Edman breaks from the clinch.
Couture throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Edman's waist but Edman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Couture off to one side.

Edman misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Edman shoots in and bounces Couture off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Edman wants to stand up but Couture is controlling the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Couture takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Edman catches Couture with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Edman fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Couture keeps the fight on the outside.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Edman just leaning against Couture, taking a breather.
Edman is trying to stall.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Edman tries for a takedown. No joy.

Edman wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Couture has him pressed against the cage.

Edman tries a body shot but Couture blocks it.
Edman with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Couture has Edman pressed against the cage, preventing Edman from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Edman manages to break the clinch.
Edman is looking to clinch.
Edman tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Edman counters with a low kick, right behind Couture 's knee.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Edman forces Couture back against the cage and clinches.
Edman wants to break free but Couture has control.
Edman has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Couture wants a takedown but no success here.
Edman prevents a takedown attempt there.

Edman breaks from the clinch.
Couture fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Edman darts in and clinches Couture up against the cage.

Edman attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Couture is defended easily by Edman.
Edman dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Couture. That did some damage!
Edman misses with a jab, cross combination.
Paul Edman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Couture slips a jab and a cross from Edman.
Edman stuffs the takedown attempt from Couture. Couture gets slowly back to his feet.
Edman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Couture counters with a takedown into side control.
Edman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Couture on the ground.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Couture works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Couture is putting a hurting on Edman here, landing some big shots from side control.
Edman is not content to let Couture control the position.
Couture throws a strike aimed at the side of Edman's head but Edman avoids it well.
Edman is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Edman wants to control but Couture is keeping busy.
Couture throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Couture shoots in but Edman avoids the takedown attempt easily.
