PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergei Ivanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joulu Pukki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ivanov has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksandr Martynov and Ivan Kurochkin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ivanov works over Pukki's head and body with a nice combination.

Pukki shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ivanov's guard.
Ivanov on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ivanov tries to get out of the position.
Pukki pushing down on Ivanov's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Ivanov is breathing heavily.
Pukki trying to control the pace.

Pukki seems to be working for a kimura but Ivanov defends the submission attempt.
Pukki works his way into side control.
Pukki wants to control but Ivanov is keeping him busy.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pukki trying to control the action but Ivanov is working from the bottom.

Pukki is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ivanov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ivanov is looking to regain half guard here but Pukki keeps moving and retains side control.

Pukki is working to tighten is grip on Ivanov's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Ivanov has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Pukki is really squeezing tight and eventually Ivanov passes out! Pukki breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
