The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Danare throws a half hearted mid kick.
Danare fails with a takedown attempt.

Taheri closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Danare did well to prevent Taheri getting side control.
Danare is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Taheri is pressing down on Danare's thigh, looking to free his foot. Danare is holding on for now.
Taheri is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Danare wants to control but Taheri passes into side.
Taheri wants to lay and pray for a moment but Danare keeps working.
Taheri tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Taheri moves to the back position.
Taheri gets his hands free as Danare looks to control.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Taheri has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Danare's body.

Taheri trying to control the position from guard on top but Danare is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Taheri pushing down on Danare's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Taheri wants to take a breather but Danare is having none of it.
Still in half guard, Taheri seems content to control.

Taheri wants to work for an arm triangle but Danare is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Taheri wants to lay and pray for a moment but Danare keeps working.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Tayeb Taheri just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Danare throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

so Taheri counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Taheri wants to control from the top but Danare keeps moving.

Danare is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Taheri is aware though and is defending well.
Taheri connects with a couple of short punches.

Taheri works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Taheri tries to pass the half guard into mount. Danare knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Taheri connects with a nice short shot to Danare's temple.

Taheri frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Danare defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Taheri.

Danare wants to hold on but Taheri pushes him away.
Taheri lands with some strikes.

Taheri working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Danare turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Taheri off and cradles Danare's limp body as Taheri celebrates with his corner.
