Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenneth Townsend (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Hard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Townsend comes into the arena with Walk by Pantera blaring out of the sound system. Hard has chosen Crazy Bitch as his entrance music. Kenneth Townsend has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hard closes this distance looking for a takedown but Townsend circles away.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Hard shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Townsend is bucking up trying to escape but Hard cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Townsend is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hard is just riding it out for now. Townsend eventually gives up the hold.

Hard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Townsend. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Townsend drops back looking for a leg! Hard is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hard manages to kick Townsend off! Townsend jumps back into Hard's guard.
Hard wants to get back to his feet but Townsend is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Townsend tries to close the distance and clinch but Hard swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hard shoots in but Townsend avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A combination from Townsend does no damage.
Hard shoots in for a double leg but Townsend sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Hard walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

That was a close round but I would say that Kenneth Townsend will probably get the nod.

Hard shoots in for a takedown but Townsend shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Hard tries to score a power double leg takedown but Townsend sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hard somewhat.

Townsend comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Horrible takedown by Townsend or perhaps it was just good defense by Hard which made him look bad.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hard changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Townsend fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Townsend lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Hard got a little sloppy there for a moment and Townsend has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hard has managed to get both his arms back between Townsend's legs - danger averted.
