Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Locke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronald Figueroa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Locke kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Star Wars - Imperial March. John Locke had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Locke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ronald Figueroa!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Edson Gomes and Matheus Silva.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Locke lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Locke throws a body punch but Figueroa moves out of range.
Locke lands with a shot to the body.
Figueroa has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Locke finds it's way round the side to connect with Figueroa's head.
Locke uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Figueroa.
Locke uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Figueroa.
Figueroa misses with a double jab.
Locke throws the left hand but Figueroa avoids the punch easily.
Locke has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Locke there as he acknowledges the shot.
The fighters circling - Figueroa throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Locke scores with a body shot.
A combination from Figueroa does no damage.
Locke swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Figueroa counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Locke thinking.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Figueroa comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Locke closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Figueroa is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Locke is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Figueroa has escaped the position, nice work there.

Locke thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Locke is breathing heavily.
Figueroa is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Locke is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Locke thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

Locke forces the positional change into back control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Locke looking to break Figueroa's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Figueroa remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Locke will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Figueroa is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Locke is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Figueroa defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Locke somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
Figueroa rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Figueroa looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Figueroa is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Locke has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Locke has control of Figueroa's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Figueroa regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Locke is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Figueroa is forced to tap! Great finish!
