The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mouse tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Compton swivels and escapes.
Compton fails with an attempt to clinch.

Oooh a lovely combination from Compton sends Mouse down but not out. Compton dives into side control looking to finish.

It looks like Mighty Mouse has been cut.
Compton avoids the strikes from the bottom by Mouse.
Mouse misses with a strike from the bottom.
Compton blocks the strikes from Mouse.
Mouse has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Compton fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mouse, pushing him back against the ropes.
Compton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bert Compton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mighty Mouse.

Mouse wants the takedown. Compton is fighting it off but Mouse persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Compton's guard against the ropes.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That was a close round but I would say that Bert Compton will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Compton tries to close the distance and clinch but Mouse swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Mighty Mouse is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Compton connects with a good right hand that stumbles Mouse. Mouse circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Compton and Mouse goes tumbling to the canvas! Compton follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.

Mouse is rocked!
Mouse misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Mouse is still in real trouble! Can Compton finish him?
Compton wants to get back to his feet.

Compton decides to stand and escape the position.
Mouse seems to have recovered his senses.
Compton tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mouse swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Mighty Mouse seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Compton cracks Mouse with a hook to the temple - Mouse is on wobbly legs here! Compton swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Mouse falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Compton wins by TKO!
