Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between BoBo Smilths (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Read Ro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Ro's choice of entrance music: CAN A CAN GET A WHAT WHAT. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, BoBo Smilths! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Read Ro! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ro checks a low kick from Smilths. Smilths decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Smilths controlling the action here. Ro is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Smilths looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ro with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Smilths sitting and controlling from the half guard. Smilths seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Smilths is figuring out what he wants to do next. Smilths is keen to just control but Ro is a slippery customer. Smilths throwing shots but Ro is blocking nicely. Smilths prevents Ro from improving his position. Ro is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smilths not landing any meaningful shots this time. Smilths trying to control the pace. Smilths is thwarting Ro's attempts to control the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Smilths misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Smilths fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ro avoids it really well and circles away. Ro shoots in for a double leg but Smilths sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Smilths closes the distance and clinches up with Ro, looking for a takedown. Smilths pushes Ro against the cage but Ro circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for BoBo Smilths. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Ro stuffs the takedown. Ro fails to land the takedown. BoBo Smilths seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Smilths looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. No luck with that takedown attempt from Smilths. Smilths slips a jab and a cross from Ro.
Horrible takedown by Smilths or perhaps it was just good defense by Ro which made him look bad. Ro tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Smilths swivels and escapes. Ro throws the kick towards the body but Smilths avoids it. Ro misses with a kick to the body.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Smilths.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smilths throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ro's waist but Ro gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Smilths off to one side. Ro shoots for a takedown but Smilths saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Ro works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Smilths fails with a takedown attempt. Smilths is breathing heavily. Ro wants to clinch up but Smilths keeps it at a distance. Smilths rushes Ro and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Smilths manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Ro trying to control the position from guard on top but Smilths is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Smilths is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ro is aware though and is defending well. That's four minutes gone in the round. Smilths is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Ro pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Smilths is keeping the position for now. Smilths has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ro gets to his feet - Smilths follows without any prompting. A right-left combo lands from Smilths. Ro blocks the body kick.
Smilths gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Smilths might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Ro trying to control the position from guard on top but Smilths is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ro is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
BoBo Smilths dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Smilths on the wrong end of a nice hook. Smilths tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ro sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smilths somewhat. Ro closes the distance but Smilths moves to the side and Smilths counters with a left and a right that stings Ro. Smilths fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ro sprawls well initially but Smilths persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Smilths content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Ro is not content to let Smilths control the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ro keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smilths stops Ro from getting back to his feet.
Smilths looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Ro moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Ro is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Smilths wants to get back to full guard. Ro sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Smilths defending well though. Smilths trying to control from the bottom.
Ro wants to pass to mount but Smilths is defending the position. Smilths gets full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Ro postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Smilths keeping moving, preventing Ro from controlling successfully.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Ro shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Smilths as he avoids it easily. BoBo Smilths has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Read Ro. Smilths misses with a wild combination.
Smilths shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Ro wants to stand up but Smilths is controlling him. Smilths postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smilths lands a couple of digs. Ro doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ro is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Ro is trying to keep Smilths in close.
Smilths is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Smilths wants to control from the top but Ro keeps moving.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Ro misses with a head kick.

BoBo Smilths dominated that second round. That's time! Smilths's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!
Smilths keeps the fight on the outside. Ro shoots in for a takedown but Smilths shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Smilths gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Ro cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Smilths is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ro sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Nice sprawl there from Ro as Smilths shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for BoBo Smilths. That's going to take a lot out of him. Smilths tries to bum rush Ro with a series of wild strikes but Ro uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Smilths will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Ro leaves Smilths with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ro fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Ro is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Ro is desperately trying to improve his position but Smilths has a good base and remains in mount. Smilths jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Ro manages to avoid the submission attempt. Ro struggling a bit here. Smilths sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Ro is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Ro avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Smilths. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smilths misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Smilths throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Ro gets back to half guard. Smilths is looking to advance position but Ro won't allow it. BoBo Smilths is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Smilths tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Ro tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Smilths counters with a thumping low kick. Read Ro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Smilths tries for a takedown but Ro sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
And that's the end of the fight! BoBo Smilths showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Smilths, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
