Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Justin Keen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Hanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Keen kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Round One. Dave Hanson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

It looks like Justin Keen has been cut.
Keen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hanson.
Keen looks to throw the jab but Hanson is out of range.
Hanson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Keen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Keen fails to land with a series of punches.
Hanson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Keen.

Hanson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Hanson wants to take a breather but Keen is having none of it.
Keen tries to get to full guard but Hanson has control of the leg.
Keen throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Hanson thows a huge punch but Keen dodges it nicely.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Keen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hanson.
Hanson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Keen avoids it really well and circles away.
Hanson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nice defenses there by Hanson.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Hanson throws the left hand but Keen avoids the punch easily.
Hanson gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Keen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hanson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Hanson wants to control but Keen is keeping him busy.
Hanson is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Hanson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Keen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Keen wants to control but Hanson is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Keen is pressing down on Hanson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Keen trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Keen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hanson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Hanson is looking for a sweep.
Hanson can't do much from the bottom here.
Hanson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Keen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Keen working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Keen misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Keen is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hanson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Keen is breathing heavily.
Keen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hanson keeps working.

Hanson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Keen's best efforts.
Keen not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Keen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hanson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Keen missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Keen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Hanson is looking for a triangle but Keen pushes his legs off easily.
Hanson has momentary wrist control but Keen slips an elbow through the middle.
Hanson is trying to control the position but Keen postures up.
Keen with a flurry of punches that miss.

Keen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hanson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Keen has managed to get both his arms back between Hanson's legs - danger averted.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hanson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Keen but Keen pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Keen throws a jab when Hanson was well out of range.

Keen closes the distance and pushes Hanson back into the cage.
Keen pushes off an throws an elbow but Hanson leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Come on Keen - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Hanson tries for a takedown. No joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Keen trying to stall but Hanson improves his position.
Keen taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Hanson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Keen gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Hanson jumps guard but Keen stands there with Hanson around his waist. Hanson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Hanson wants to take Keen's back here but Keen is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Keen regains half guard.

Keen looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Hanson missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Hanson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Keen is just riding it out for now. Hanson eventually gives up the hold.
Hanson is breathing heavily.
Keen slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Hanson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Keen dives on top into guard.

Keen is looking to work some ground and pound but Hanson has wrist control.

Keen distracts Hanson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Hanson doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Hanson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Keen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Keen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Keen in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hanson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Keen regains full guard. Nicely done.
Keen lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hanson!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hanson tries to lock up and control but Keen gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Hanson manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Keen performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Keen tries to clinch but Hanson moves out of range.
Keen lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Hanson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Keen swivels and escapes.
Hanson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Keen.
Keen cracks a nice hook into Hanson's ribs.
Keen scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Keen decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Hanson is trying to maintain the position but Keen is very close to passing his half guard.
Keen blocks the strikes from Hanson.
Hanson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Hanson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Keen passes Hanson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Keen has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Keen is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hanson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Keen lands a big shot there that rocks Hanson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Hanson is in a horrible position here. Keen smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Keen with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Hanson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Hanson is looking to improve his position but Keen isn't that keen on the idea.
Keen lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Hanson hang on?
Justin Keen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Keen breaks from Hanson's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Keen has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hanson's face.
Hanson wants to control but Keen is having none of it.

Hanson avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Keen.
Keen throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Well Keen has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
