Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Guerrero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and john paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
paul tries for a takedown but Guerrero sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
paul shoots in looking for a takedown. Guerrero tries to sprawl out of it but paul keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Guerrero manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Guerrero wants to control from the top but paul keeps moving.

paul escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Guerrero gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Guerrero stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. paul swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
paul looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Antonio Guerrero has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of john paul.
paul tries to close the distance and clinch up but Guerrero swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

paul fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Guerrero, pushing him back against the cage.

paul shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Guerrero pinned against the cage. Guerrero gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Guerrero feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

paul has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Guerrero is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for paul.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if paul can do anything to dispel that myth.

Guerrero seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down paul for as long as he can get away with.
