Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Laggum Vane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leon Czolgosz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vane comes to the cage accompanied by No Rest for the Wicked. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Laggum Vane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leon Czolgosz!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vane is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Czolgosz.
Czolgosz slips a jab and a cross from Vane.
Vane misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Czolgosz shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Czolgosz was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Czolgosz jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Vane is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Vane and Czolgosz has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Czolgosz throws a strike aimed at the side of Vane's head but Vane avoids it well.

Czolgosz is trying to get an arm triangle but Vane is defending well.
Vane wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Czolgosz tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Czolgosz controls the position from side control.

Czolgosz is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Vane is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Czolgosz is looking to take a break and control but Vane is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Czolgosz wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Vane, who protects the arm well.
Vane is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Czolgosz wants to control but Vane is keeping him busy.
Vane dodges the ground and pound from Czolgosz.

Czolgosz looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Vane wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Czolgosz tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Czolgosz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vane keeps working.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Czolgosz shoots for a takedown but Vane saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Czolgosz uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Vane.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Leon Czolgosz dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Nice sprawl there from Vane as Czolgosz shoots in.
Vane throws a right hand that Czolgosz ducks under and follows up with a left that Czolgosz also avoids with ease.
Vane throws a right and a left that both miss.

Czolgosz closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Czolgosz lands in his opponent's guard.

Czolgosz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Czolgosz is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Vane is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Vane has escaped and now he's on top!

Vane wants to stand and escape but instead Czolgosz has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Czolgosz drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Vane dives on top into guard.
Czolgosz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Czolgosz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vane keeps working.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Czolgosz is working for a kimura but Vane is defending it quite comfortably.

Czolgosz is trying to work for a kimura but Vane is defending well.
Czolgosz trying to control the action but Vane is working from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Czolgosz is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Czolgosz is trying to control. Vane wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Czolgosz is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Vane defends it well.
Vane is refusing to be controlled, as Czolgosz sits in half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Vane lands a body shot.
Vane looks to land a left hand but Czolgosz moved out of range nicely.
Czolgosz throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Vane counters with a one-two to the body.
A punch combination from Vane misses.
Vane lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Czolgosz circles away quickly and effectively.
Czolgosz throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Czolgosz tries for a takedown but Vane circles away easily
and Vane counters with a stiff right hand.
No joy there for Vane, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Left hook, right uppercut from Vane.
Czolgosz showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Vane.
Vane connects with a body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Laggum Vane will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Czolgosz slips a jab and a cross from Vane.
Danga de danga de dang - Vane scores with a four punch combination!
Vane throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Laggum Vane is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Vane misses with a double jab.
Vane looks to land a combination but Czolgosz avoids it well.
Vane lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Czolgosz backs up against the cage.
A punch combination from Vane misses.
Vane throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Laggum Vane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Czolgosz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Vane as he avoids it easily.
Vane throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Czolgosz fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Vane misses with a two punch combination.

Czolgosz drives through with a takedown into guard.
Czolgosz is in close to Vane's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Czolgosz wants to control from the top but Vane keeps moving.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Czolgosz tries to free his leg and advance position but Vane is retaining full guard.
Vane working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Czolgosz.
Czolgosz trying to control the position from guard on top but Vane is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Czolgosz throws a strike but Vane rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Czolgosz has control of Vane's left arm, preventing Vane from doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Vane stands up and waves to Czolgosz to follow him.
Vane throws a big shot that misses.

Czolgosz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Czolgosz drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Vane manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Czolgosz has Vane in his guard.
Czolgosz is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vane is looking to stand up but Czolgosz won't let him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Czolgosz is adopting a defensive guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Vane wants to get up but he can't break Czolgosz's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Czolgosz wants to improve his position but instead Vane has moved into half guard.
Vane wants to stand up but Czolgosz has a hold of him and won't allow it.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Leon Czolgosz.
I think Czolgosz has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
