Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rick Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Slaughter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bob Slaughter acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rick Ross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bob Slaughter!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Paulo Santos and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slaughter's corner calls for a 1-2. Slaughter obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.


It looks like Rick Ross has been cut.
Slaughter lands a nice looking body shot.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Slaughter throws a big shot that misses.
Ross throws a series of punches but Slaughter moves out of range.
Ross takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Ross is breathing heavily.
Slaughter stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Slaughter wants it to stay on the feet.
Slaughter wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
A left lands for Slaughter.
Ross defending well as Slaughter loads up on a big left hand.
Slaughter lands a jab to Ross's midsection.
Slaughter throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Slaughter tries to close the distance and clinch but Ross swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Slaughter. Ross does a little dance to reset his feet.
Donk. Slaughter catches Ross right on the button with a cross.
Slaughter throws a head kick but Ross moves out of range.

A clash of legs there as Ross blocks the low kick.
Ross throws a lazy right hand but Slaughter sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Ross tries to score with a low kick but Slaughter moves his leg out of the way.
Ross slips under a jab from Slaughter.
Slaughter lands with a nice body punch.
Ross moves out of range as Slaughter strikes.
Slaughter misses with an attempted mid kick.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Slaughter throws a hook but Ross blocks it.
Slaughter thows a leg kick but Ross checks it

and Ross counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Ross stops Slaughter from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ross throwing shots but Slaughter is blocking nicely.
Slaughter is looking to improve his position.

Ross seems to be looking for submissions.

Slaughter is defending against the submission attempts here by Ross.
Slaughter tries to kick Ross off but Ross keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Slaughter throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Ross looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Slaughter with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Slaughter throws and low kick but Ross moves out of range easily.

and Ross counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ross.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ross wants to control from the top but Slaughter keeps moving.
Slaughter lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ross!
Ross is looking to improve his position but Slaughter isn't that keen on the idea.
Ross is working hard here to advance position.
Ross is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Slaughter lands a heavy elbow.

Ross sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Slaughter thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Ross is not content to let Slaughter control the position.

Slaughter is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Slaughter wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Slaughter dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Rick Ross's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Ross tries to clinch up
and Slaughter counters with a nice body shot.
Slaughter swings for the body but Ross moves out of range.
Ross shoots in and drives through. Slaughter sprawls well.
Ross slips under a jab.
Slaughter ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ross moves away.
Bob Slaughter seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Slaughter stuffs the takedown.
Slaughter takes a swing at Ross's ribcage but misses.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Slaughter. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Slaughter tries to clinch but Ross moves away

and Ross counters by moving into the clinch.
Slaughter misses with a punch on the inside.
Slaughter gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Ross.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rick Ross. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ross misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Slaughter.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ross is trying to drag Slaughter to the mat but Slaughter just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Slaughter tries to circle away but Ross has him pinned against the cage.
Ross tries to land knees in the clinch but Slaughter avoids the damage to the body.
Ross keeps control of Slaughter as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Slaughter.
A nice left hand lands by Slaughter.
Ross has Slaughter pressed against the cage, preventing Slaughter from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Slaughter wants to break the clinch but can't.
Ross wants a takedown but no success here.
Ross with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Slaughter wants to get back to striking at distance but Ross won't allow it.
Ross lands a knee to the body.
Ross is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Slaughter gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

A frustrated look appears on Slaughter's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Slaughter has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Ross lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Ross drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Ross seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Slaughter does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Ross is working for a kimura here but Slaughter manages to reverse the position and he's now in Ross's guard.

Ross closes the distance and clinches up with Slaughter, looking for a takedown. Ross pushes Slaughter against the cage but Slaughter circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Slaughter will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Bob Slaughter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Ross's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Slaughter misses the shot to the body.
Slaughter slaps away a takedown attempt from Ross, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Slaughter connects with a looping right hand.
Slaughter tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ross swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ross slips a jab from Slaughter.
No luck for Ross with that takedown attempt.
Ross changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Slaughter tries to avoid it but Ross manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Slaughter to the ground. Slaughter escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rick Ross. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Slaughter is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ross.
Ross fails to land the takedown.
Slaughter throws a hook but Ross blocks it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Ross bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Ross tries for a takedown but Slaughter circles away easily
and Slaughter connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Slaughter lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Ross shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Slaughter scores with a counter punch that sends Ross to the canvas! Slaughter smells blood - he's punishing Ross with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Ross has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bob Slaughter!
