The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wasa staying out of range there. Hawkins avoids a punch combination nicely.
Wasa throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hawkins sees it coming and avoids it easily. Wasa fails to land with a series of punches.
Hawkins tests Wasa's chin there with a solid looking shot. Wasa ducks under a wild hook from Hawkins. Wasa fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hawkins misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Wasa.
Hawkins instigates a clinch. Hawkins scores with a shoulder strike. Hawkins gets through Wasa's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Hawkins lands with a light punch inside. Hawkins lands a hook to the side of the head. Hawkins lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Wasa or not. Wasa wants a takedown.
Hawkins breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Gusav Wasa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hawkins dances in with a quick combination. Wasa is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Hawkins snaps Wasa's head back. Wasa stumbles backwards against the cage. Hawkins steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Wasa's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Wasa just didn't come prepared.
