Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between George Pieru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Blade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blade has chosen For Whom the Bell Tolls as his entrance music. Bobby Blade is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blade looks to land a combination but Pieru avoids it well.

Pieru clinches up against the cage.
Pieru tries for a takedown but Blade manages to get underhooks.

Pieru changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Blade fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Blade wants to clinch but Pieru slips to the side

so Pieru counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Pieru throws a strike but Blade rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Blade's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Blade won't allow Pieru to sweep him here.

Pieru working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Blade doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Blade manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Blade has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Blade there as he acknowledges the shot.
Pieru shoots in for a takedown but Blade shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George Pieru. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Blade misses with a looping left.

Blade looks to throw the jab but Pieru is out of range.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Blade fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Pieru on the side of the head.

Pieru is working for takedown but Blade is calmly controlling the position for now.

Pieru has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Blade is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

It looks like George Pieru has been cut.
Pieru is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Blade gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Blade lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Pieru takes an elbow to the forehead.
Blade gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Pieru.
Pieru is breathing heavily.
Pieru has Blade pressed against the cage.
Blade lands a hook to the side of the head.

Nice body punch from Blade - that landed with a thud.
Blade is pressed up against the cage. Pieru has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Blade down to the mat. Blade avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Pieru shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Blade but Blade pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Blade lands with a thumping leg kick.

Blade throws a looping overhand right but Pieru ducks down to avoid it.
Blade throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Blade lands a big head kick that sends Pieru to the canvas! Blade follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
