Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Trey Hope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Pattison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trey Hope!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Robert Pattison!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Kavanagh and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hope moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Hope throws a low kick, looking for Pattison's leg but Pattison calmly moves out of range.
Hope lands with a shot to the body.
A punch combination from Hope misses.
Hope tries to clinch up.
Nice takedown defense from Hope. No joy for Pattison on that attempt.
Hope lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Pattison shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hope manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Hope tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Hope working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pattison doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pattison manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hope looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Pattison would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hope wants to sweep but no luck.
Hope is controlling Pattison's posture.

Hope working for submissions but it's allowed Pattison to get to half guard.
Hope is breathing heavily.

Pattison looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Hope is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pattison's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pattison's back!

Hope is looking for the choke from the back position but Pattison is controlling his hands well.
Pattison breaks Hope's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Hope looking for a sweep. Not yet Hope, not yet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Pattison trying to control the position from guard on top but Hope is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pattison looking to sit in guard and control but Hope gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Pattison keeping full guard, as Hope tries to pass.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hope wants to clinch.
Pattison slips under a jab from Hope.
Hope tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pattison paws at him with a jab and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Trey Hope dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Pattison avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Hope decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Hope sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Pattison defending well though.
Hope tries to pass the half guard into mount. Pattison knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Hope is trying to control the action in half guard but Pattison is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Hope stalling away here and it's allowed Pattison to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Hope tries to clinch up.
Horrible takedown by Pattison or perhaps it was just good defense by Hope which made him look bad.

and Pattison counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Pattison.
Hope fails to pull guard.
Hope tries to pull guard but Pattison holds him up against the cage and eventually Hope drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Trey Hope. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pattison unloads a knee to the mid-section. Hope lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Pattison has clasped his hands together around Hope's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The ground and pound from Pattison seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Hope looks to move to half guard but instead Pattison has passed into mount! Damn!
Hope is desperately trying to improve his position but Pattison has a good base and remains in mount.
Hope in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Hope manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Hope is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pattison's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pattison's back!

Hope has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Pattison's body.
Pattison just trying to survive but Hope is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Can Pattison hold on?! Hope is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Hope. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Hope really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Pattison.

Hope is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Pattison is defending well though. Hope let's go of the attempt for now.

and Pattison counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Pattison.

Hope is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Pattison tries to free his leg and advance position but Hope is retaining full guard.

Hope has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pattison can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hope trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Hope escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pattison gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hope not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Pattison trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hope is on top in guard.
Pattison can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hope controls the pace.
Hope won't allow Pattison to get back to his feet.
Hope postures up.
Hope pushing down on Pattison's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Pattison is trying to maintain the position but Hope is very close to passing his half guard.

Hope is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Pattison has managed to free his arm - good work.
Hope not doing much here.
Pattison is refusing to be controlled, as Hope sits in half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hope is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Pattison wants to control but Hope is keeping busy.
Hope is keen to just control but Pattison is a slippery customer.
Pattison is looking for a sweep. Hope is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Robert Pattison has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Hope is working for a kimura but Pattison is defending it quite comfortably.
Hope not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hope, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
