Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nathan James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and mike bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James comes to the cage accompanied by a great song. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from James as bob shoots in.

bob feints and as James raises his hands in defense, bob changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
James is adopting a defensive guard.
bob wants to control from the top but James keeps moving.
bob wants to pass the guard but James is keeping the position.
bob trying to control but James is working from the bottom.
bob looking to pass the guard.
bob trying to stand up but can't free himself from James's guard.

James avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

James gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
bob goes for a takedown in the clinch but James prevents it.

bob jumps guard but James stands there with bob around his waist. bob gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Nathan James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of mike bob.
James changes levels and goes for a takedown here. bob fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

James feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

James drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and James jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

James is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
James seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but bob does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

James tries to control but bob wriggling away.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
James has control of bob's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and bob regains control of the situation pretty easily.
bob is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

James works his way to his opponent's back.
bob just trying to survive but James is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

bob tries to clinch but James is having none of it.
James avoids a punch combination nicely.
bob takes a shot to the body in his stride.
bob is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
bob closes the distance but James moves to the side

James moves in looking to clinch but bob pushes him off.

James shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than James was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

bob wants to hold on but James pushes him away.
bob tries to improve his position but instead James has taken his back!
bob can't escape the position.

bob is trying to get back to his feet but James has full control of the position and if anything, bob has just worked his way into a worse spot.
bob is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

James looking to break bob's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. bob remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise James will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

bob is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if James gets his way!
