Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Freddy Frito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Couture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Couture tries to clinch there but Frito circles away.
Frito tries to close the distance and clinch but Couture swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Frito. Couture shrugs it off though.
Couture tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Frito scores with a jab to the jaw.
Frito shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Couture napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Couture is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Frito off and has taken his back!
I really don't envy Frito right now.
Couture is trying to stick to Frito's back but Frito is turning into Couture. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Couture's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Frito.
Frito controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Couture has his foot on Frito's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Frito works his way back into a safe position though.

Frito thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Frito stands and throws Couture's legs to the side, diving into side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Frito throws and elbow that misses. Couture uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Frito's guard. Nice move by Couture!

Couture seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Frito is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Couture defends well.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Couture won't allow Frito to sweep him here.
Couture is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Frito is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Frito has escaped and now he's on top!
Couture wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Couture is looking for a triangle but Frito pushes his legs off easily.

Frito has gone for a leg lock! Couture slips out almost immediately though and dives into Frito's guard.
Frito looking to hit a scissor sweep but Couture is one step ahead there.
Couture missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Couture gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Freddy Frito is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Couture with a lazy takedown attempt
and Frito makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Couture is breathing heavily.
Frito thuds a left hand into Couture's body.

Frito scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Frito changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Couture looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Frito trying to control the action but Couture is working from the bottom.
Frito works to advance to full mount. Couture defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Frito gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Frito lands with a nice body kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Frito thumps Couture with a low kick.
Frito feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Couture's calf.
Frito shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Frito was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Freddy Frito overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Frito lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Frito fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Frito takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Frito misses with an elbow to the head.
Couture takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Couture fending off the submission attempt from Frito.
Couture has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Frito.
Frito is looking for a choke. Couture gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Couture manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
Couture thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Couture pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Frito is keeping the position for now.
Frito keeping moving, preventing Couture from controlling successfully.
Frito manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Couture manages to get himself to full guard.
Couture looking to control.
Couture working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Frito has passed into half guard!

Frito looks to land a strike but Couture avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Frito has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Frito stands and steps away. Couture gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Randy Couture has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Frito looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Couture!
