PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rob Base (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Black Ninja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Rob Base has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Rob Base seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ninja blocks a leg kick.
Ninja throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Base's waist but Base gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ninja off to one side.
Base displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ninja.
Ninja fails with the takedown.
Rob Base has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Black Ninja.
Base thumps Ninja with a low kick.
Base throws a head kick but Ninja moves out of range.

Ninja shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ninja moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Base has worked his arm free - good work by Base!

Ninja is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Base is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Base swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Ninja counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Ninja wants to lay and pray for a moment but Base keeps working.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Ninja has gone for a leg lock! Base slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ninja's guard.

Ninja takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Black Ninja showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Ninja seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Well, if Ninja is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Base moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Ninja wants to control from the top but Base keeps moving.
