The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kontiovaara gets a takedown into half guard.
Kontiovaara passes to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kontiovaara working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Kontiovaara is trying to get an arm triangle but Hopea is defending well.
Hopea is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kontiovaara is controlling him well.
Hopea tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kontiovaara wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Kontiovaara tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Hopea is trying to improve his position.

Kontiovaara is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Hopea looks calm but he's in trouble here. Kontiovaara gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Hopea is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Kontiovaara lets go of the hold and Hopea can pop his arm back in it's socket.
